What is YAWN?

YAWN is a collection of safe, non-toxic makeup and skin care for kids ages 3 and up. It was created by a team of beauty industry veterans who were #notimpressed by the makeup currently being made for and marketed to kids. We knew we could do better and our kids deserve better (*cough* safe, age-appropriate products *cough*), so we made YAWN! Not to mention, it shouldn’t break the bank for your kids to play/use safe products.

Who is YAWN for?

Almost everyone! YAWN is for children ages 3+ and the adults who love ‘em. It was important to us that we make products for kids and their skin. (PSA: Your kid doesn’t need a longwear eyeliner or exfoliating serum!) Our makeup and skin care products are not suitable for children under 3 years of age.

Is YAWN suitable for all skin types?

We worked hard to make sure our formulas are safe and gentle for all skin types, but we always recommend testing products before use. (Tip: your forearm is the best place to patch test!) If you have specific skin concerns, consult your doctor. Always discontinue use if irritation occurs. Never apply products to damaged, sunburned or inflamed skin.

What do you mean by safe, non-toxic ingredients?

When it comes to our ingredients, we follow the gold standard in “clean beauty” pioneered by our friends at Credo. We have removed over 2,500 potentially harmful ingredients from YAWN products, including: sulfates, parabens, talc, mineral oil, silicones, and phthalates. All of our products are also gluten free. Are your products cruelty free?

Duh! All YAWN products are vegan and cruelty free (that means we never test on animals).

Do your products contain coconut or coconut derived ingredients?

A few of our products contain coconut oil. You can view the full ingredient list on each product page.

Are your products made in a nut-free facility?

YAWN products are NOT manufactured in a nut-free facility.

Do you use fragrance in your products?

Yes. We use both safe synthetic fragrances along with some essential oils. If you are sensitive to essential oils, make sure to read the product ingredient lists and patch test before using.

Where are YAWN products made?

Our makeup and skin care products are made in the USA using globally sourced ingredients.

Can I recycle my YAWN products when I’m done?

We’re doing our best to make YAWN products using post-consumer recycled (PCR) materials and whenever possible, make them easily curbside recyclable. It’s a work in progress, but here’s a breakdown of our product materials and recyclability to date: 

  • Lip Balm: Made with 100% post-consumer recycled plastic. Sadly, this tube cannot be recycled.
  • Compact: Made using polyethylene terephthalate (PET). PET is a type of clear, strong, lightweight and 100% recyclable plastic. When finished, remove any remaining product and toss it in your recycling bin!
  • Lip Gloss: The tube is made using PET. When finished, remove the wand (toss it in the trash) and recycle the tube!
  • Face Multi-Stick: Made with 100% post-consumer recycled plastic. When finished, remove any remaining product and toss it in your recycling bin!
  • Body Balm: Cannot be recycled.

Can I change or cancel my order?

Yes! Please email hi@yawn.world within 24 hours and we will assist you with any changes.

When will my order ship?

You will receive an email with your order confirmation and DHL tracking number once your order is on the way.

Do you offer gift wrapping or notes?

Nope, sorry! We’re doing less to do more for the planet.

Can I return or exchange YAWN products?

All merch sales are final. Unused and unopened makeup + skin care items may be returned, excluding original shipping costs. A refund will be issued in the form of store credit provided you reach out within 7 days of receiving your order. Customer is responsible for return shipping costs.  Please email us hi@yawn.world to begin the process.

What do I do if my order arrives damaged?

Please email us at hi@yawn.world right away with photos and we’ll help you out!

Is YAWN sold in stores?
